A Multiplying Church

We believe that the best way of reaching the unreached and making disciples is through the planting of new churches in other neighborhoods and cities. Tim Keller says that “The vigorous, continual planting of new congregations is the single most crucial strategy for 1) the numerical growth of the body of Christ in any city, and 2) the continual corporate renewal and revival of the existing churches in a city. Nothing else—not crusades, outreach programs, para-church ministries, growing mega-churches, congregational consulting, nor church renewal processes—will have the consistent impact of dynamic, extensive church planting. This is an eyebrow raising statement. But to those who have done any study at all, it is not even controversial.” We have a strategy of multiplication through our vehicles of Gospel Communities and Discipleship Groups. We have a heart to see multiple church plants here in Taiwan and also in Southeast Asia. If you know someone who is interested in church planting or being a part of church planting in Taiwan or Southeast Asia, let us know!

Why Bi-lingual?

Taiwan has stated that they are planning to be a bi-lingual nation by 2030. Linkou is special in the fact that so many people and families operate in a bilingual context daily. There are 3 to 4 international schools that bring in people from all over the world who need to hear the Gospel and be discipled in both English and Mandarin. We believe that this is a beautiful picture of what heaven will be like(Revelation 7:9). There have been families who have been restricted in worshipping together because of a language barrier. We seek to serve both the international community and also the local Taiwanese community.

Gospel-Centered

Finally this is the foundation for all that we do and why we exist. The Gospel isn’t just a message that saves us, but is the means and power by which we are changed and sent out to make disciples who make disciples. We desire that we say and do will be rooted in the Gospel. It is our heart to be a movement of disciples who display and declare the Good News of Jesus in all of life. What does this mean? It means that we will seek to lay a Gospel foundation for all that we do, from our gatherings, to our discipleship and church planting systems.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Our Sunday gatherings will be focused on worship that is a response to the good news of Jesus and will also enable the entire body to come together for the edification of the whole church. We will gather to sing together, sit under the preaching of the word, and respond to the word through communion, giving, or by being prayed for by our prayer team. We believe that as we gather as the church and worship through the power of the Holy Spirit, we are sent again from that gathering back into the workplaces, schools, and neighborhoods to be witnesses of Jesus.
