為什麼要成為會友? Why membership?

打從救贖故事的一開始，上帝就一直拯救呼召歸向祂自己的人。按聖經來說，這些被贖的族群被稱為上帝的家庭，為了要成為家人，我們相信大家需要彼此委身，分享我們的時間、才能和金錢。新約聖經勾勒出一幅地方教會一份子的清楚概念。

From the very beginning of the redemptive story, God has been saving a people who He is calling to Himself. Biblically this redeemed group of people is called God’s family. In order to be a family, we believe that it requires us committing to one another as we give our time, talent, and treasure. The New Testament provides a clear picture when it comes to what it means to be a part of the local church.

希伯來書作者在10章25節中提到一個聖經的誡命，「你們不可停止聚會，好像那些停 止慣了的人，倒要彼此勸勉，既知道那日子臨近，就更當如此」，作者不只是鼓勵信徒聚會，還提醒教會應當「依從那些引導你們的，且要順服，因他們為你們的靈 魂時刻警醒，好像那將來交帳的人。你們要使他們交的時候有快樂，不致憂愁；若憂愁就於你們無益了」(希伯來書13:17)，這個意思是指會友立約時，有二方面的約定: 第一方面是當你立約時，是個人與上帝立下約定；第二方面是教會領袖有責任牧養和照顧上帝所託付給他們的會友，這樣做是合乎聖經原則。

In Hebrews 10:25 the author of Hebrews issues a biblical command saying, “not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near”. Not only does he exhort the church to gather together but he also exhorts the church to “obey your leaders and submit to them, for they are keeping watch over your souls, as those who will have to give an account. Let them do this with joy and not with groaning, for that would be of no advantage to you”(Hebrews 13:17). That means that covenant membership is two-sided. From one angle it is the individual's personal commitment first to the Lord then to His body and the leaders God has placed over him/her. On the other side it is a biblical responsibility for the leaders in the local church to shepherd well and care for those whom God has placed in their care.

我們相信如果沒有會友立約的程序，就無法順服新約提到的「彼此」的誡命。

We believe that we are not able to actually obey all of the “one another’s” in the New Testament without covenant membership.
